George Gachara is the founder and board chair of Heva Fund LLP in Nairobi, and a director at CANEX Creations Inc., a subsidiary of Afreximbank. He is one of Africa’s leading creative-industry strategists, fund advisors, and resource allocators, shaping the future of cultural and creative economies across the continent. George provides strategic counsel to Afreximbank, Mastercard Foundation, and the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture, strengthening the continent’s growth-capital ecosystem. Through his research leadership with the Policy and Evidence Centre (UK), he advances evidence-based policy for a dynamic, dignified, and opportunity-rich creative economy for Africa’s young population. For over a decade, George has designed and managed catalytic capital vehicles that unlock opportunity for creative enterprises, including the Pioneer Creative Industries Fund, HEVA Fund LLP, the Ignite Fund, the Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Program (East Africa), the Documentary Africa (DOCA) Film Africa Fund, and the Kenya Inclusive Creative Industries Program with the Mastercard Foundation.
