Geisha Khatwani

Geisha is a Digital Product Design student from BITS Design Mumbai, India, currently completing her undergraduate degree. Her practice is rooted in research and story-listening, a habit that takes her from schools tucked into the narrow gullies of Kalyan to high-end restaurants and cafés, tracing the textures of child education and food culture along the way. She is drawn to questions of community, access, and public life, and believes design holds real responsibility toward both. Outside the FigJam, she channels her curiosity into prose and visual art, mediums through which she learns to tell the stories she has spent time collecting. Geisha comes to the Salzburg Academy hoping to deepen her understanding of how media shapes collective experience, and to contribute her perspective as a designer committed to work that is both thoughtful and actively useful.
