Garba Dahiru Gandu is currently deputy director special duties and head of the Curriculum Development Center at the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) in Sheda, Abuja. In academics his areas of study include teaching at tertiary and lower education level, presentations at conferences, publications and membership of organizations related to linguistics, language education and development, curriculum development and assessment, peace and security education, citizenship education, environment and education policy and reform. He has held several positions and served as resource person and participant in different projects organized by domestic and international development partners. He holds an Advanced Certificate in peace and conflict resolution, B.A. Combined Honors in history and Hausa, a Bachelor's of Law, is a qualified barrister, has an M.A. in Hausa linguistics and a Ph.D. in political linguistics.
