Emmanuelle Andrès is an associate professor of American studies in the department of applied foreign languages at La Rochelle University, France. She is a committed teacher, scholar and mentor. In her daily pedagogical practice, she strives to open students' minds by introducing them to the representation, history, activism, and artistic expressions of minorities in North America. She is genuinely convinced that the classroom can provide an invaluable space for understanding and improving relations between human beings coming from different backgrounds. As far as her research is concerned, Emmanuelle is a very keen Toni Morrison Scholar. After working on her novels for many years, she has been recently involved with all intersecting aspects of her extensive writing, by way of the Toni Morrison Papers at Princeton University.
