Emmanuel Luyirika is the executive director at the African Palliative Care Association, a pan-African organization working to develop awareness for palliative care, integration of palliative care into existing health systems, development of evidence for palliative care through research and strategies for sustainability of palliative care. He studied medicine at Makerere University, family medicine at the Medical University of Southern Africa and public management at Stellenbosch University. He has served on several technical committees at WHO, UNAIDS, UNICEF and is a board member of WHPCA.
