Emily Gade is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Oregon. Her research focuses on political violence, state repression, resistance, and the insecurity of minority groups, with particular attention to the role of ideational factors in shaping these dynamics. Her work has won awards for both qualitative and quantitative research methods and appears in leading journals, including: the American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, British Journal of Political Science, Harvard Data Science Review, and EMNLP. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Carnegie Foundation. She also founded and co-directed the O/R Lab, which focuses on innovative pedagogy in research methods.
