Youth Environmental Educator & Researcher in Trans
Elyssa Hidar is a youth environmental educator and master’s student based in Montréal, Canada. She has nearly 10 years of experience in non-formal education, working with organizations such as SUCO, Les Amis de la Montagne, and Greenpeace on topics ranging from biodiversity and climate justice to zero waste and Indigenous land relationships. She is currently teaching outdoor education in forest school settings. Elyssa holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies focused on global environmental governance, and is pursuing a research-based master’s in industrial engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. Her current work explores how art can foster sustainable behavior change among youth. Elyssa has participated in both COP15 and COP16 on biodiversity and is passionate about transformative education that centers emotion, creativity, and reconnection with the living world.
