Eberhard Crain is a founding managing partner at CBR Management GmbH. He founded the firm and its Private Equity Funds EquiVest as majority shareholder in 1998. He served as a managing director and founding member of Vector Beteiligungs-Beratungs GmbH in 1992 together with LBO-France and fonding member of Bessemer-Metzler Beteiligungs-Beratungs Gmbh in 1991, the 3rd German Private Equity Fund. Eberhard was a member of the central Board of the Thurn & Taxis Group in Regensburg, with specific responsibility for brewery activities. The group had 68 different industry interests worldwide, for which he also had overall controlling responsibility. Between 1981 and 1987, Eberhard was in senior management positions at Hoechst AG, and was appointed as a managing director of Hoechst's sheets and plastic film division. From 1980 to 1981, he was a managing director and shareholder of Lauda Air Luftfahrt GesmbH in Vienna together with car-racing world champion Niki Lauda. Prior to moving into industry, he spent six years from 1974 to 1980 as a senior management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf, Munich and Frankfurt. Dr. Crain was the chairman of the Supervisory Board of K&M Möbel AG since June 12, 2002. From 1987 to 1990, he served as a director of STN Atlas Marine Electronics GmbH. He was also the director at Correkta A.S., and advisor to the Bankhaus Spängler & Co. He holds a Ph.D. - Dr. iuris - from the University of Salzburg, where he studied law and an M.B.A. from INSEAD in Fontainebleau. During his studies of law (Dr. iur.) at the University of Salzburg, Eberhard was the assistant of Nobel Laureate F.A. von Hayek. He is a reserve officer in the Austrian Bundesheer (Federal Armed Forces).
