Djauhari Oratmangun has been the director-general for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) since February 2009. He is also the Indonesian permanent representative to ASEAN. Mr. Oratmangun joined the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 1984 and was posted at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia in New York and of the Republic of Indonesia in Geneva. He also served as director for multilateral economic cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as director for United Nations economic, development, and environmental affairs. Mr. Oratmangun received a degree in economics at the University of Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta.
