Dicky Jr is a self-taught multidisciplinary creative and educator based in Nairobi, Kenya. His design work is forward-thinking and thoughtful and often seeks to break old stereotypical narratives of the continent and tell new African stories. In 2017 he founded 510 Media - a visual communications consultancy that is focused on helping, especially, foreign NGOs, Non-Profits and social startups create more thoughtful, relevant, effective communications for local audiences. Since then, the consultancy has worked with global NGOs such as Reliefweb (US), Access Challenge(US), PSI (SOM), and Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevaelkerung(GER). He is also an online educator. Using his years of experience in media and design to teach students around the world about graphic design and animation through his skillshare classes. Previously, Dicky co-founded the now defunct AfricanStockPhoto.com - a platform that sought to connect talented African photographers on the continent to buyers across the world. The platform had close to 300 contributing photographers and over 8000 unique images by the time it shut down in August 2020.
