Senior Adviser, European Banking Federation (EBF)
Denisa Avermaete is a senior adviser in the European Banking Federation (EBF) currently in charge of sustainable finance. Joining the EBF in 2004, she held various positions in the fields of payments, accounting and prudential regulation, following and contributing to the development of several key legislations and financial reporting standards such as IFRS 9. She started her career in Creditanstalt, an internationally active bank. She left the position of deputy head of the International Payments Department to join Slovak Banking Association, before accepting a traineeship in the European Commission, where she joined the Clearing and Settlement Unit. She holds Master's degree in banking and finance from the University of Economics in Bratislava.
