Deborah Eldridge became senior vice president for accreditation and administration of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in July of 2012. She has served as senior vice president of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since 2011. She provides support and leadership for all aspects of accreditation as NCATE moves forward to unification with the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) to become CAEP. Her specific duties include overseeing all accreditation processes to ensure excellence, rigor, and consistency; program review; finance; human resources, IT; administrative support; and event planning. Immediately prior to coming to NCATE, She served as the dean of education at Lehman College of the City University of New York. While at Lehman, she was the principal investigator of an innovative, fifth year clinical residency program funded by the U.S. Department of Education under the Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) initiative. She has written dozens of articles on literacy and is the author of two books.
