Cyan recently earned a bachelor of arts in public management, leadership, and policy with a double major in sociology from The Ohio State University. Her educational and professional experiences are centered around public policy, racial justice, and criminal justice reform. She has served as a peer mentor in a juvenile correctional facility, worked on prosecutor reform as an intern at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, researched criminal sentencing and policing practices as an intern at the Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission, and worked with clients and their families as an intern at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Public Defender's Office. Currently, she is a fellow at a non-profit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons.
