Cornelia Janke
Senior International Technical Advisor Education Development Centre; Director, Education in Crisis & Conflict Network (ECCN), USA
Cornelia Janke has served as the director of the USAID Education in Crisis and Conflict Network (USAID ECCN), Boston since 2014. USAID ECCN is a community of practice for USAID staff and partners, dedicated to improving the quality and accessibility of USAID education programming in crisis and conflict-affected environments. Additionally, USAID ECCN complements the excellent contributions of other networks, such as the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), by providing resources to a smaller, more USAID-related community while also gathering and distributing key information to larger audiences. Cornelia has more than 20 years of experience as an education specialist and has been helping to manage change in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Through her work in places such as Afghanistan, Haiti, Rwanda, Kosovo, Timor Leste and South Sudan, she has demonstrated a commitment to education in crisis and conflict-affected contexts, and in particular to creating effective linkages between policy and practice, using practical research and communication as tools. Cornelia holds an M.P.A. with an emphasis in international education and monitoring and evaluation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, USA.
