Lord Patten served as the 28th and final Governor of Hong Kong. He was appointed as Commissioner for External Relations to the European Commission and served as a crossbench member of the British House of Lords. Patten was formerly the Chairman of the BBC Trust and currently serves as the Chancellor of the University of Oxford. He has previously also been a Board member of Salzburg Global Seminar and Chair of the 21st Century Trust.
