Christine Shields runs the Country Risk Research function within Global Research. She has extensive experience in macro-economic research. For many years Christine analysed UK, Japanese, US, and European economic trends, before moving exclusively into emerging markets and country risk analysis. She has worked in a markets environment, in corporate banking, and in the risk function, running country risk for Royal Bank of Scotland as well as its sovereign policy and limits-setting. Christine has travelled extensively, especially in Asia, and spoken at key global conferences on country risk issues. Christine joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2006, having spent almost 19 years at Royal Bank of Scotland. Her degrees, Bsc (Econ) and MSc (Econ), are both from the LSE, where she studied after running her own accounts consultancy.
