Christian Hartmann is head of research group for Technology, Foresight and Planning at the Centre for Economic and Innovation Research at the Joanneum Research Forschungsgesellschaft in Graz, an organization which he joined in 1996. Dr. Hartmann's responsibilities include management of the thematic field "South-Easter-Europe", analysis of regional systems of innovation, and methodologies of regional foresight and prospective analysis. His areas of interest and experience include technology policy, regional innovation policy, and the integration of the Middle and Easter European countries into the European Union. Dr. Hartmann holds an M.A. in economics from the Karl-Franzens University in Graz.
