My name is Catherine Gessner and I am a marketing student at Emerson College in Boston Massachusetts. I grew up in a small town in New Hampshire where I enjoyed dancing, was a member of the swim team, and an avid lover of acting and the theater. I volunteered as a mentor to young students, a caretaker of sheltered cats, and worked a series of different events. I initially went to Emerson to pursue a career in film editing, and while I enjoyed it, I needed something more fulfilling. Currently I work as a photographer for my college's sports organization and have done some magazine photography in the past. I've also started a successful photography business in my hometown. I still enjoy watching shows at the theater and I like to learn new things; in a year alone I've learned a new language, piano, and will be learning how to fence in the fall. I also have a dire need to travel and experience different parts of the world; to learn things that television, movies, and books can't teach me. After Salzburg, I intend to work for an organization that helps people for the greater good and travel much more, but for now, Salzburg is my greatest achievement, and I can't wait to start.
