Carola HOYOS (Co-chair) is chief energy correspondent of the Financial Times in London, where she covers all aspects of energy, specializing in the world’s biggest oil and gas companies from Saudi Aramco to Total. She also covers the geopolitics of oil, writing on energy policy decisions as divergent as those of Washington and the OPEC oil cartel. Until 2003, Ms. Hoyos was the paper’s United Nations correspondent, having covered the lead up to the 2003 war in Iraq. She has won several awards, including Business Journalist of the year in 2007 for her coverage of BP. Ms. Hoyos started her career at Knight Ridder Financial news wire, later named Bridge News. She is also a frequent contributor to radio and television and chairs several conferences each year. Ms. Hoyos holds degrees in economics and international relations from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.
