Belin Benezra-Yensarfati is a research assistant in the Sociology Department at Istanbul Bilgi University. She is a doctoral candidate at Bogaziçi University and currently works on the social and religious occasions of the Sephardic Jewish community in Istanbul. In addition to being a member of YATOÇ (Jewish Communities Study Group) under the Research Center on Cultures of Turkey at Istanbul Bilgi University, she is co-editing an ongoing project called "Teaching about Fundamental Rights and Democratic Values Through the Life and Story of Anne Frank." This project aims to produce history course material for high school teachers and students. After receiving her B.A. in sociology and advertising with honors at Istanbul Bilgi University, she earned an M.A. in modern Turkish history at Bogaziçi University, where she completed a master's thesis on "The Turkish Health System in Transition: Family Planning in the Case of Istanbul."
