Barnabas (Barney) Reynolds is a partner in Sullivan & Cromwell's Financial Services Group. Barnabas is a leading financial institutions practitioner, advising financial institutions, boards, and senior executives on risk management, regulatory changes, and compliance. Barnabas frequently engages with policymakers and regulators on complex domestic and cross-border financial services matters. Barnabas helped numerous financial institutions during the 2008 financial crisis, the Eurozone crisis of 2009 to 2012, and the Credit Suisse and Silicon Valley Bank situations. Barnabas has played a significant role in the development of financial regulatory regimes, including advising on the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). Barnabas also advised the United Kingdom government and market participants on legal and regulatory issues arising from the UK's withdrawal from the European Union. Barnabas was educated at Downing College (Law) and Queens' College (L.L.M.), Cambridge. He is a Fellow of Salzburg Global.
