Barbara C. Matthews is founder and CEO of BCMstrategy, Inc. in Alexandria, Virginia, a technology company she founded in 2017 to develop her predictive analytics patent for measuring policy risk. Her interests and expertise focus on the innovation frontier where intermediation, geopolitics, and technology meet. She has worked with and advised leading global financial sector innovators in the public and private sectors regarding derivatives, regulatory capital, and cross-border supervision policy as well as international trade policy, Euro Area policy and currency union issues, reserve currency politics, and the Bretton Woods institutions. She has chaired meetings and delivered speeches on five continents in addition to publishing articles in leading law reviews and chapters in books. She is a member of the Bar of the State of New York, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bretton Woods Committee, and the Cosmos Club. She received a B.Sc. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, a J.D. and an LL.M. in comparative and international law from Duke University School of Law, and a post-graduate fellowship from the American Society of International Law.
