Asami Okada is a founder of Welsib in Japan. Welsib means "welcome siblings" and it was established in 2020 to support siblings of those with disabilities. Welsib provides siblings and their families with information, resources, and a network by working together with elementary and junior high schools, special needs schools, hospitals, and government agencies. Asami researched about education and employment of persons with intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders at the University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan.
