Artina Dawkins has a B.S. in Biology from Wake Forest University, an M.P.A. from High Point University, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Leadership Studies at NC Agricultural & Technical State University in North Carolina. She is also employed full-time as an orthopaedic surgery residency program coordinator. Her research interests include mentor programs and professional development for residency coordinators. As an up-and-coming leader, it is important to Artina to acquire social capital and to successfully cultivate personal and professional relationships. Artina serves on committees of two non-profit organizations and is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters. In her leisure time, Artina enjoys Zumba, salsa dancing, live musical events, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. In addition to working full-time, Artina has her own event planning business. She plans to pursue a leadership position in graduate medical education with her doctoral degree.
