Anya Humphrey is a retired psychotherapist who lost both her husband and son to cancer. As caregiver to both of them, she witnessed an excellent system populated by wonderful people whose good intentions were not enough. She became a member of the inaugural Patient and Family Advisory Council of Cancer Care Ontario, which has led to participation in many local, provincial and national projects. Her focus is on palliative care and end of life, with the goal of providing the patient and family perspective on what matters, how to provide that, and how to determine if it is happening.
