General Director of Exams, Ministry of Education, Tunisia
Amor Ouelbani is general director of exams at the Tunisian Ministry of Education. He was appointed to this position in September 2013. He has been the builder, designer, and developer of several educational and logistical innovations in the field of national assessments since his appointment. He formerly served as director of the Regional Directorate of Education of Kairouan from 2009 to 2011 and as general director of the Regional Directorate of Education of Ariana from 2011 to 2013. Amor is also the representative of Tunisia in the executive board of the Arab Organization of Education, Culture and Science (the equivalent of UNESCO) since 2015 and participated in several meetings about education in different Arab countries. Since 2015, he has also been permanent member of the National Commissions for the reform of the Tunisian Education System. In these roles, he has coached debates, provided instruction and training in a variety of related subjects and assisted in the development of academic programs, curricular activities, and teacher recruitment (he was the head of the national recruitment commissions for the primary and secondary teachers in 2014). Amor is the recipient of numerous academic and professional awards. He was also decorated by the President of the Republic in 2015 and in 2016 during the National Science Day. He graduated from the University of Tunis with a B.Sc. in living languages in 1984. He also holds a degree in tourism and a degree in archives.
