Amber Lopez Lasater

Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater is Acting President of Nevada State University, one of the fastest-growing public universities in the United States, where she leads institutional strategy at the intersection of access, workforce development, and civic-scale growth. Her work centers on aligning public policy, philanthropy, and private capital to expand opportunity and strengthen regional economies. At Nevada State, she has advanced major initiatives including the SMART Growth Initiative and development of a new North Las Vegas campus, a 30,000-square-foot site opening in 2027 through partnerships with the City of North Las Vegas and Agora Realty & Management. Supported by more than $10 million in early public and philanthropic investment, the campus will expand access, reduce travel barriers, and deliver workforce-aligned instruction and student services. Her leadership in government and external affairs has helped secure more than $120 million in public investment for academic facilities, a $40 million healthcare workforce partnership, and major cross-sector collaborations addressing Nevada’s educator shortage. Dr. Lopez Lasater holds a Doctor of Public Policy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
