Altman is an artist and educator from Plankinton, South Dakota. His practice addresses questions of Midwestern mythology and regional responsibility in cultural creation, with a strong emphasis on fostering inclusiveness and focusing attention through collaborative art making. Altman has worked as a resident artist with the South Dakota Arts Council since 2008 and holds a master of fine art from Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine.
