Alice Greenwald joined the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at The World Trade Center in April 2006 as executive vice-president for programs and is director of the Memorial Museum. In this capacity, she is responsible for managing and overseeing the articulation and implementation of a vision for the planned National September 11 Memorial Museum, and for the eventual programming and operation of the Museum. From September 2001 to February 2006, Ms. Greenwald served as an associate museum director for museum programs at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. From 1986-2001, she served as principal of Alice M. Greenwald/Museum Services (USHMM), providing consulting expertise to a variety of clients in addition to USHMM. Prior to the establishment of her consulting business, she served as the executive director of the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia; acting director, curator and assistant curator of the Hebrew Union College Skirball Museum, Los Angeles; and curatorial assistant at the Maurice Spertus Museum of Judaica, Chicago. Ms. Greenwald has served as a chairperson for the Council of American Jewish Museums and is the recipient of several awards. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and holds an A.M. in history of religions from the University of Chicago Divinity School
