Ágnes Csermely joined the central bank of Hungary in 1995 as a junior analyst. Since then she worked for the bank at various positions. She was appointed to the position of director of Monetary Strategy and Economic Analysis in 2007. Her department is responsible for macroeconomic forecasts, monetary policy assessment and for the bank's monetary policy framework. Her recent publications cover issues such as optimal monetary policy regimes and the policy challenges arising from financial imbalances. Ágnes Csermely holds a Ph.D. in economics from Budapest University.
