Benjamin Glahn speaking at the Salzburg Global program "Connecting and Supporting Ukrainian Civil Society in Time of War" in July 2022

A message from Benjamin Glahn, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Acting Chief Program Officer at Salzburg Global Seminar

2022 has been quite a year at Salzburg Global Seminar. A 75th anniversary, a new President & CEO, and in many ways, a return to our roots.

While we continue to expand our programs on Education, Culture, Health, and Finance & Governance, this year, just like 75 years ago, we renewed our focus on Peace & Justice programs.

Just like our founders, we recognize that without peace, nothing else is possible. Peace is a prerequisite for progress. Salzburg Global continues to dedicate itself to shaping a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable future.

In July, we marked Salzburg Global Day by concluding a special program: Connecting and Supporting Ukrainian Civil Society in Time of War. The program provided an opportunity for civil society - especially women leaders - to create a shared vision for the future of their country. We will continue work with our newest Ukrainian Salzburg Global Fellows to support those working to defend and protect civil society and democratic systems in Ukraine and elsewhere.

Similarly, through our Asia Peace Innovators Forum, we are working with a diverse cohort of peace innovators and advocates from across Asia to develop new strategies to build more resilient, inclusive, and just societies.

Although the past two years have been challenging for all of us, the steady support of Fellows and donors like you has enabled us to enhance and expand our programs. We are incredibly proud of our global Fellowship and grateful for your generosity, which helps us welcome the next generation of Salzburg Global Fellows from all over the world.

Just over seventy-five years ago, three young visionaries believed current and future leaders could come together to reconcile past conflicts and shape a better world. We continue building that vision today, creating a future we want for ourselves and those who will follow.

Thank you for supporting us and for helping to support the next generation of Salzburg Global Fellows.

We wish you and your family a happy holiday season and peace and joy in the year to come.

PS - If you haven't already and wish to, please consider making a donation to support our work.
