Salzburg Global co-sponsors Global Disability Summit online workshop focused on making education more inclusive
As a proud co-sponsor of the Global Disability Summit and member the Inclusive Education and Early Childhood Community of Practice, Salzburg Global Seminar was delighted to join the Inclusive Education Thematic Workshop on January 20, 2022.
The online event provided an opportunity for world leaders, policymakers, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), funders, international organizations, civil society organizations, advocates, and other important stakeholders to convene and discuss lessons learned and promising practices. The workshop also offered time to highlight allies who have made Global Disability Summit commitments to inclusive education and hold all stakeholders accountable to ensure that learners with disabilities are fully included in any and all international development efforts going forward.
As Salzburg Global Seminar works in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Quality Education and Reducing Inequalities are key imperatives throughout our programs, moving away from identifying problems with learners and towards identifying barriers to learning.
“It was inspiring to attend the workshop and hear other advocates and international organizations share their learnings and efforts in making education more inclusive and just,” said Salzburg Global Program Director Dominic Regester.
