48 Fellows will develop innovative technology solutions to shared societal challenges
We are delighted to introduce the fourth cohort of the Japan-India Transformative Technology Network, a distinguished group of Fellows dedicated to leveraging technology for social good.
Supported by the Nippon Foundation, the Japan-India Transformative Technology Network connects and empowers outstanding changemakers in India and Japan. The program offers them a platform for interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.
Together, Fellows develop innovative ideas to apply technology to products, processes, policymaking, organizational practices, and financing across three related sets of challenges: accessibility, mobility, and inclusion; livable communities; and health systems. These three challenge areas are ripe for innovation from new technologies that can deliver benefits relevant for Japan, India, and the world.
This year's cohort brings a wealth of expertise from various sectors and backgrounds, as interdisciplinary approaches are fundamental to the program's design. The group consists of 48 Fellows from India and Japan, with an equal number of male and female participants. Their collective experience and commitment to social impact enables them to develop innovative technology solutions to shared societal challenges.
Fellows' participation in the program is already underway with online meetings, facilitating initial discussions and project planning. The five online sessions will culminate in an in-person convening scheduled from April 27 to May 2, 2025, at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria. The opportunity to convene in person allows Fellows to develop their collaborative projects, engage in intensive workshops, and build lasting relationships.
As the fourth cohort embarks on this journey, we anticipate the development of innovative technological projects that will contribute significantly to societal advancement in India, Japan, and worldwide.
Since the inception of the Japan-India Transformative Technology Network in 2020, 126 Fellows have successfully participated in the program. Many have continued their work beyond Salzburg and greatly developed their projects.
