Collaborative Leadership

Online

17:00 CET

In 2022 the UN hosted the Transforming Education Summit, the largest education convening in more than 50 years. Since then more than 140 education systems around the world have developed blueprints and action plans for radical transformation.  One of the key threads running through a lot of these plans is a greater emphasis on collaboration rather than competition within the system.

In November 2023 WISE's Agile Leaders of Learning Innovation Network published a report on Collaborative Leadership for Transforming Education in Learning Ecosystems. As part of the Empowering Young People to Change the World conference, we are hosting a conversation with some of the authors of this report about what collaborative leadership means in practice in different education systems.

Developed through an 18-month collaborative effort with education practitioners worldwide, the Collaborative Leadership for Transforming Education in Learning Ecosystems report explores collaborative leadership for transforming education in learning ecosystems. Building on the previous two reports, “Education Reimagined: Leadership for a New Era” and “Education Reimagined: Leadership for Transformation” by the WISE Agile Leaders of Learning Innovation Network (ALL-IN), this report presents and analyzes a set of case studies that demonstrate the new practices and approaches in a wide range of contexts.

This report contributes to a deeper understanding of the type of leadership needed to cultivate healthy, thriving, and equitable learning ecosystems that benefit both present and future learners.

Empowering Young People to Change the World is an online teachers conference series (16 April – 17 July). Every week of term time, 2 events will be held from 17:00 CET, where you will hear from regional, national and global speakers. It is FREE of charge.
