Martina Kohl is a Cultural Affairs Specialist at the US Embassy in Berlin, Germany, where she coordinates a Germany-wide speaker and curriculum development program in American Studies. She serves as Deputy Executive Editor of the American Studies Journal, which recently entered a partnership with Göttingen University Press, and holds a position on the advisory board of the Salzburg Seminar American Studies Association (SSASA). Martina studied at Florida Southern College from 1980 to 1981, and taught and conducted research at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor 1985 to 1990. She regularly teaches in the American Studies program at Humboldt University, Berlin and at the Obama Institute at Mainz University. She holds a master's degree and Ph.D. in American studies, English studies, and history from Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. She is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
