Salina Kafle currently serves as the Director of the local NGO Human Rights and Justice Centre. Salina is a human rights lawyer whose work focuses on addressing severe human rights violations such as torture, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and conflict-related sexual violence in Nepal. Throughout her work, she has closely monitored Nepal's transitional justice process, closely analyzing its strengths and weaknesses to ensure a more effective and inclusive approach. Salina designs innovative legal strategies that challenge impunity and advocate for the rights of marginalized and vulnerable groups. Her impact extends beyond the courtroom, as she litigates cases and demands accountability for those responsible in national and international fora (UN bodies). Salina is actively involved in training and mentoring human rights defenders and legal practitioners on international standards for documenting and litigating cases of violations. She also undertakes advocacy activities to bring about change in the lives of those directly affected.
