Julia Pataky

Education Outreach Coordinator, US Embassy Vienna, Austria

Julia Pataky is a Viennese native with Austro-Hungarian roots. She received her MA in Intercultural and International Communication as a Fulbright student at American University's School of International Service in Washington, DC. Building on her previous academic and professional background and interests in public diplomacy, Julia focused her studies and her research on EU-U.S. cultural diplomacy, the history of U.S. public diplomacy, and digital diplomacy. During her Fulbright grant in Washington, DC, Julia also spent some time at the EU Delegation to the U.S., where she worked on the strategic implementation of the European Commission's foreign policy instruments in the U.S. Upon completion of her MA degree, she moved to Kansas City, MO and worked at the local Goethe-Institut to foster cultural exchange between Germany and the U.S.

In her current position with the Public Diplomacy Section of the US Embassy in Vienna, Julia covers the education, exchanges & youth portfolio.
