Stephan is a research associate and PhD candidate at the University of Salzburg (School of Education). His focus areas are European CItizenship Education, values research and civic education. Previously, he was senior lecturer at the Università Roma III in Italy (program: Intercultural Communication). In addition, he teaches at the HTL Innsbruck and is advisor to various educational and social projects such as "DesignEd4resilience" (CT, USA) or the "Centre for Design Thinking and Innovation in Education" (Puerto Rico). Stephan studied Italian and German at the University of Graz as well as in Florence (Italy) and Coimbra (Portugal). He also completed a postgraduate certificate course in International Relations and Diplomacy in Geneva (Switzerland). Recent activities - Winner Austrian State Award: Europe and Education (Federal Chancellery) 2023 - Fellow "Love Politics" - Expert jury member for the award "We are Europe" (awarded by the EU (Vienna Liaison Office) and the bmbwf) - Fellow Forum Alpbach - Fellow European Integration (School of Education & Center for EU-studies Salzburg)
