Marlon Julian Nombrado is a critical media literacy educator with seven years of teaching experience in both formal and informal settings. He is one of the co-founders of the award-winning educational nonprofit, Out of The Box Media Literacy Initiative or OOTB. Along with his organization, he was awarded First Prize in the 2021 Global Media & Information Literacy Awards of the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance.
He has published reference materials, taught in hundreds of workshops, and produced media campaigns on how to critically and responsibly engage with media for civic good. Marlon is an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the premier exchange program of the U.S. State Department for emerging foreign leaders.
Marlon received his bachelor's degree in Journalism in 2014 from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
