Emerson Holloway is a graduate student at Emerson College studying media design. As a civic designer, writer, artist, museum administrator, and lifelong learner, Emerson is interested in how visual and written media can connect people across differences. Emerson believes that media and design, when harnessed intentionally, can be beneficial educational tools that challenge conceptions of social and cultural norms. When used well, visual, and written media can create spaces of curiosity, inclusion, and care that may not have otherwise existed. Emerson is expected to graduate in August 2023 and hopes to continue work in creative institutions, such as art museums or publishing houses.
