Mahawa Abibatu Koroma currently works as the Radical Inclusion Consultant at the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education in Freetown Sierra Leone. As her title indicates, her work focuses on the inclusion of parent learners and girls, persons living with disability, persons from lower income family and persons from hard-to-reach areas into the education system.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Government from Ohio Northern University, United States and a Masters degree in International Business and Strategy from Lancaster University, United Kingdom. Mahawa is especially interested in methods of reducing teenage pregnancy, sexual and gender-based violence, child marriage and STIs to increase the admission and retention of girls in the education system through Comprehensive Sexuality Education.
