Anna Mathis

Natural Resources Manager, City of Chattanooga, United States of America

Anna Mathis is the natural resources manager for the City of Chattanooga, where she oversees natural resources stewardship and management for the Department of Parks, in collaboration with the water quality program. She is the leader of the city-wide Land Management Working Group, an integral part in improving land management practices in the city to achieve a higher level of environmental stewardship. Anna previously coordinated environmental programs involving the protection and restoration of Virginia's portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, working on the grassroots level to encourage landscapes that conserve water, prevent pollution, and create habitat. She has a Masters in environmental management from the Nicholas School for the Environment and Earth Sciences at Duke University. Anna finds solace and spiritual restoration in camping or simply taking a hike with her dog or gardening in her backyard.
