Helmuth Fellner

Managing Director, Fellner Media AG, Vienna

Helmuth Fellner is managing director of Fellner Media AG, Vienna, where he is responsible for the development of new media projects in Austria and provides consulting to various media companies. He began his career as co-founder of Rennbahn Express, the first nationwide youth magazine. From 1984 to 1988, he directed the business side of the monthly youth magazine Basta. In 1992, Mr. Fellner co-founded News, a weekly news magazine, which reached a circulation of 330,000 by 1995. In that year, the bi-weekly TV-Media was first published, for which Mr. Fellner served as managing director. In 1998, he co-founded Format, a weekly news magazine focused on politics and the economy. In 2001, Mr. Fellner became chief executive officer of the publishing group News, where he led the expansion of activities in the print, radio, and Internet sectors. The group continued to grow and gained control of additional magazines, including the leading Austrian news magazine Profil. In 2001, Mr. Fellner co-founded Woman, an Austrian women's bi-weekly. He holds a degree from the University of Economics in Vienna. Mr. Fellner is an alumnus of Salzburg Seminar Session 262, Entrepreneurship, 1987.
