David Broder

National political correspondent, Washington Post, Washington DC (invited)

David BRODER (Co-Chair) is a national political correspondent for The Washington Post. His column, syndicated by the The Washington Post Writer's Group, is carried by more than 300 newspapers across the globe. Before joining The Washington Post in 1966, Mr. Broder covered national politics for The New York Times, The Washington Star, and the Congressional Quarterly. He has covered every national election since 1960, is a regular commentator on CNN's "Inside Politics," and makes frequent appearances on NBC's "Meet the Press" and "Washington Week in Review." Mr. Broder received the 1973 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary and has been named "Best Newspaper Political Reporter" by the Washington Journalism Review. He was awarded the White Burkett Miller Presidential Award in 1989 and the National Press Foundation's 4th Estate Award in 1990. Mr. Broder received an M.A. in political science from the University of Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Broder also served on the faculty of Salzburg Seminar Session 336, The U.S. Presidential Election Process, 1996.
