Sara Salama

Legal Advisor, Coptic Orphans

Sara Salama is an international lawyer with diverse experience across the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Sara currently heads the legal department at Coptic Orphans-an international development organization which focuses on access to education for vulnerable communities in Egypt. She advises on corporate governance, contract negotiations, human rights law, child protection, non-profit law, anticorruption laws and other compliance matters. Sara Salama obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M) from Duke University School of Law with a focus on international human rights law. During this time, she was awarded the Duke Law Clinics Advocacy Award for the research she completed while at Duke and was nominated by Duke Law to be a Salzburg Cutler Law Fellow in 2016. Additionally, Sara has worked with esteemed institutions in the private and public sector such as the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, Siemens and the United Nations High Commissioner's Office for Refugees. She holds law degrees from France and the United Kingdom.
