Nii Quaynor

Nii Quaynor is the executive chairman and founder of Network Computer Systems (NCS) in Accra, Ghana. NCS provides technology solutions delivery for large national corporations in support of development projects as well as leadership to the wider African IT industry. Since its founding in 1991, NCS has established West Africa’s first public networks for Internet, SWIFT, EDI, and other virtual communities. Dr. Quaynor previously served as principle engineer and later as senior engineering manager for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). In 1979 he founded a new computer science center at the University of Cape Coast, where he served as head of the department and senior lecturer. Dr. Quaynor has served as a consultant of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation for organizations such as the United Nations and World Bank. He received a B.A. in engineering science and a B.E. in computer engineering from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, USA, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
