José Zaglul

President

José ZAGLUL, Costa Rica President, EARTH University (Escuela de Agricultura de la Región Tropical Húmeda), an institution dedicated to the conservation and sustainable development of the humid tropics. Former head, Animal Production Department, Center for Tropical Agricultural Research and Training, Costa Rica. From 1981 to 1985, served as professor of food science and vice-rector of research and extension, the Costa Rican Institute of Technology. Chosen by the government of Costa Rica as that country's candidate for the deputy director for science at UNESCO. M.Sc., animal science, American University of Beirut, Lebanon; Ph.D., animal science, University of Florida, USA. Attended numerous Salzburg Global Seminar sessions, most recently as co-chair for the special session on Sustainability, Education, and Management of Change in the Tropics V, held in Oslo, Norway, 2003.
