Freddye Webb-Petett

Coordinator, W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Mid South Delta Initiative, Battle Creek, Michigan

Freddye Webb-Petett (Co-Chair) is coordinator for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Mid South Delta Initiative (MSDI), in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this role, Ms. Webb-Petett provides on-site leadership and program coordination for all MSDI activities in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. The initiative seeks to assist economic and social change by strengthening the capacity of individuals, families, organizations, and policy makers to develop economically healthier communities. Ms. Webb-Petett's history with the Foundation began in 1983 when she was selected to participate in the Kellogg National Fellowship Program. She joined the Foundation in 1990 as an associate program director for the Leadership programming area. In addition, she has held the positions of program director and coordinator of Leadership programming. She was previously self-employed as a management consultant to community-based organizations, and to state and local governments. Ms. Webb-Petett earned a B.A. in business administration from Portland State University in Oregon, and has done doctoral studies in sociology at the Union Institute in Cincinatti, Ohio. Ms. Webb-Petett served on the faculty of Session 317, Non-Governmental Organizations in Democratic Societies: Roles, Responsibilities, and Obligations, in 1994, and was a resource specialist at Session 351, Non-Governmental Organizations: Leadership and Civil Society, 1997.
