How Can We Move from Climate Crisis to Climate Justice?

Online

17.30-19.00 CET / 11.30-13.00 ET / 16.30-18.00 GMT

Overview

“Can there be peace and prosperity if one-third of the world lives in prosperity and two-thirds live underseas and face calamitous threats to our wellbeing?” ― Prime Minister Mia Mottley of Barbados, at COP 26.

Climate change has and will have differing social, economic and health consequences for different communities around the world. This is true for differences based on geography, gender, and generations as much as economic status. Recognizing and acting on this is a key component of climate justice.

What is happening to develop climate justice around the world? Where can we see cause for optimism and hope? Has COP 26 done enough to avoid catastrophe? What are practical differences that we can each make today that can help with this? Can we rethink and reframe our relations to others and to our planet before it is too late to act?
