Financial Regulation in Times of Pandemic: What Do We Need to Achieve?

Overview

COVID-19 is testing the financial sector and economies worldwide. Regulators have taken support measures by reducing capital buffers, providing liquidity and postponing stress tests. However, maintaining this level of sectoral resilience over the medium- to long-term will be challenging in the light of the expected slow recovery path and increasing debt.

Harnessing the Salzburg Global Finance Forum’s cross-border networks and thought leadership, this webinar examined the critical role of the financial sector for post-pandemic economic recovery and discussed how a high-quality regulatory framework could help “build back better” for a more resilient, equitable and sustainable financial system.
